Mark Haggard

When we first met Mark he had already been through a liver transplant and chemo treatments before. He had also endured being told he only had months to live. Yet two years later he's still standing and the doctors are scratching their heads.

The cancer remained in remission for two years only to raise it's ugly head and re-appear. When I spoke to Mark, his resolve was incredible. He just flat out told me the cancer wasn't going to beat him. I listened to his defiance of his illness, while thinking in the back of my head, no way. I knew about cancer first hand as I had lost my youngest sister to this hated disease less than a year earlier. Her death was still fresh in my mind.

Mark underwent treatment and became more ill and weaker. I received this information from Peter and Barney because every time I spoke with Mark he never mentioned how bad he felt nor did he ever complain about the pain he was in. When Mark received news the cancer had spread he shrugged it off and was still defiant about cancer beating him. It was about this time I started to believe he wasn't going to let this disease beat him.

Mark would travel to Steel Horse Motors and sit for hours watching while Peter and Barney made his dream become reality. Mark was in and out of the hospital during this time. He was extremely ill and weak and couldn't even stand. However, Peter and Barney made a special place for him to rest and watch his bike being assembled to compete in the London Bike Show which we understand is the largest in the U.K.. We here at Custom ChopperWerks can't thank Peter and Barney of Steel Horse Motors enough for their excellent efforts in assembling Mark's motorcycle. Steel Horse Motors are top quality people and workmanship, so the people in Europe need to stop by Steel Horse Motors for all their motorcycle needs. They'll take good care of you.

On the day of the London Bike Show Mark had just been discharged from the hospital again and was very ill. However, that was not going to stop Mark from watching how his bike would do in the competition. When it was all said and done Mark's dream had taken first place. You can see Mark's pride clearly in the last two photos. Those two pictures of Mark and the expression on his face brought out a lot of emotion here at Custom ChopperWerks.

In one of the close-up photos there is an award ribbon on the bike that simply states "Winner". We here at Custom ChopperWerks feel that ribbon stating "Winner" is not referring to the bike, but to the owner of that bike,........................... Mr. Mark Haggard.
